Here’s Anne’s cat, Skeeter, who also happens to be the title character in Anne’s first novel. He was given to Anne as a stray kitten in the summer of 1999—about six years before this photo was taken—and she’s been an excellent mother to him ever since. But even though he’s Anne’s cat, Skeeter and I are buddies, and he likes to hang out with me—which Anne says is strange, since it began even before I started to help feed him.
