Here’s a nice aerial photo of my hometown, Olympia, the capital of Washington, looking from the south into the southernmost reaches of Puget Sound. Breathtaking, no? The Olympic Mountains are in the distance. The big building almost in the center is the state capitol. (The capitol is what they built in the capital, see?) Anne and I live near the right edge of the photo, just east of the tip of that finger of water. We enjoy the accessibility, clean air, beautiful views, personable bookstores, lively arts, and inexpensive rents in this small, friendly city.
